An internationally recognised and noted educator, Dr. Tim Papadopoulos, is a board-certified specialist plastic surgeon with an interest in cosmetic surgery. Specifically in body contouring, breast surgery, and facial rejuvenation. His goal is to deliver the best results to patients accompanied by the highest level of attention to detail and service. In 2002, Dr. Papadopoulos opened the first of three plastic surgery clinics situated in Sydney. In 2013, Dr. Papadopoulos left the public hospital system and devoted all his attention to managing a thriving private practice. In 2018, he became Head of the Dept. of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery at Westmead Private Hospital (with 20 plus plastic surgeons), and in 2021 applied for Associate Prof. in plastic surgery teaching post-graduate medical students at Notre Dame University.

Dr. Papadopoulos divides his time between Westmead Private Hospital and his three private practices in Sydney. In the private hospital, his main interests include body lifts, abdominoplasty, mommy makeovers, augmentation mastopexy, face, and neck lifts especially extended deep plane facelifts (EDPF), blepharoplasty, and rhinoplasty.

Licensure

All invited ISAPS Fellows attending a fellowship in Australia must undergo a stringent process to be allowed to train in Australia.

  • Invited ISAPS Fellows to the ISAPS Fellowship Program must register with the Australian Medical Council (AMC) and apply to have their qualifications verified and to establish an AMC portfolio. Please check the Australian Medical Council's website for more information.
  • Invited ISAPS Fellows to the ISAPS Fellowship Program must register and apply with the Royal Australian College of Surgeons to be granted permission to train in Australia under the Short Term Training Program pathway. Please read more on the RACS website.
  • Invited ISAPS Fellows must also register and apply with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency to undergo an ISAPS Fellowship in Australia.

  • Biography A/PROF TIM PAPADOPOULOS BSc, MBBS Monash, FRACS (Gen.), FRACS (Plast.), GAICD A/Prof. Papadopoulos is widely regarded as one of the most knowledgeable authorities on aesthetic surgery and a leading educator in the field. He is an Associate Professor of Plastic Surgery at the University of Notre Dame and serves as Visiting Professor for the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS). Dr Papadopoulos is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) and a member of many medical societies including the Australian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ASAPS), the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), and the Aesthetic Society (USA) serving on numerous committees. A/Prof. Papadopoulos is a dual board certified surgeon, having received his General Surgery training at the Austin and Repatriation Medical Centre in Melbourne and then completed Plastic Surgery training in Sydney. He is currently a Specialist Plastic Surgeon in private practice and Founder/Medical Director of Cosmetic Culture Clinics, offering multi-location, non-invasive and minimally invasive aesthetic treatments in Sydney. He was a Board Director for ISAPS for six years and is currently a Board Director for the International Society of Regenerative Plastic Surgeons (ISPRES) and has served as President of the Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS). He also serves on the Editorial/Review Board of the Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (APS), Aesthetic Surgery Journal (ASJ) and the Australasian Journal of Plastic Surgery (AJOPS). A/Prof. Papadopoulos is currently the Head of the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (PRAS) at Westmead Private Hospital, Sydney. He is on faculty as a dissector/tutor for the internationally acclaimed Mendelson Advanced Facial Anatomy Course (MAFAC), focussing on face/neck lift surgery. A/Prof. Papadopoulos is also the Chairman of the Anatomy For Injectors (AFI) course for filler and toxin injections as part of the Non-Surgical Symposium (NSS) held annually in Australia. He has been the Program Chair and meeting organizer of over 12 national/international educational meetings in Plastic Surgery. A/Prof. Papadopoulos is driven by a passionate interest in achieving excellence through learning and teaching. Aside from contributing to many book chapters, peer-reviewed journals and publications, he has travelled the globe, giving over 500 lectures at national and international meetings/workshops on all facets of breast and body contouring and facial anatomy/rejuvenation. A/Prof. Papadopoulos is well-known for his ability to question the status quo and conventional wisdoms in medicine, as well as for his engaging teaching style and "lateral" thinking.
